Render of ShadowRay on hydrofoils

Applications

Ports. Ships. Offshore assets.

Five ways Vamfyre platforms put robots to work on the water, from port operations to scientific research.

Application 01

Port and harbour operations

ForPort authorities, terminal operators and harbour masters

Keep berths, channels and waterside structures in known condition, and keep watch over the harbour. Vamfyre platforms are designed to run routine surveys and monitoring on a schedule set by the port, reporting every change to the harbour master.

Discuss port operations
ShadowRay
Surveys berth and channel depths, and inspects quay walls, piles and fenders below the waterline.
ShadowDart
Holds station at the harbour entrance, monitoring vessel movements and water conditions.
ShadowHawk
Gives the harbour master an aerial view of berths, channels and incidents on demand.
You receive
Depth surveys, inspection imagery and condition reports, each comparable with the last.

Application 02

Infrastructure asset protection

ForOffshore energy, wind farm, subsea cable, pipeline and aquaculture operators

Inspect offshore and subsea assets between scheduled campaigns, and know when something changes around them. ShadowRay is designed to foil to site and submerge to inspect, while ShadowDart keeps watch on station.

Discuss asset protection
ShadowRay
Foils to the asset, then submerges to inspect structures, cables and pipelines.
ShadowDart
Stays on station near the asset, monitoring conditions and nearby vessel activity.
ShadowHawk
Inspects above-water structures such as platforms, turbines and pens from the air.
You receive
Inspection imagery indexed by asset, anomalies flagged for review, and alerts when a vessel anchors or loiters over a cable or pipeline route.

Application 03

Cruise and container ship escort

ForCruise lines, container shipping companies and vessel managers

Give the bridge an independent watch on the water around the ship in port, in channels and at anchor, and inspect the hull without a dive team. The platforms are designed to work alongside the ship and report directly to the crew and shore team.

POSEIDON coordinates Vamfyre uncrewed platforms only. It does not control the ship.

Discuss ship escort
ShadowHawk
Flies alongside the ship, giving the bridge a live aerial view of the water around it.
ShadowRay
Accompanies the ship through harbours and channels on hydrofoils, then inspects the hull and running gear underwater at the berth.
ShadowDart
Holds station at anchorages, watching the water around anchored ships.
You receive
Live video and alerts for small craft, swimmers and debris near the ship, plus hull inspection records referenced to time and location.

Application 04

Public safety

ForPorts, marinas, marine event organisers and waterway managers

Watch busy waterways, find people and objects in the water quickly, and give responders a clear picture. Vamfyre platforms are designed to search and monitor alongside crewed responders.

Discuss public safety
ShadowHawk
Searches from the air with thermal imaging, day and night.
ShadowRay
Foils to the scene to provide close-up video and a position fix.
ShadowDart
Monitors swimming areas, event courses and waterways from fixed stations, and relays communications.
You receive
Live thermal and visual video, positions shared with responders, and a record of each incident.

Application 05

Scientific and environmental research

ForResearch institutions, environmental consultancies and survey companies

Collect coordinated data on the seabed, through the water column, at the surface and from the air. Surface, subsurface and aerial platforms are designed to work from one survey plan, covering a site in a single operation.

Discuss a research project
ShadowRay
Surveys bathymetry, seabed habitat and the water column.
ShadowDart
Logs water quality and weather at the surface from a fixed station.
ShadowHawk
Maps shorelines, habitats and wildlife from the air.
You receive
Bathymetry, water quality time series, georeferenced imagery and survey reports.
